So we went to see the Mirror.
It was...pretty good. Scary, really cool imagery.
The things with the sister didn't fit though, at all. In tone, or style or anything. It was the only thing unreasonably nasty and gory, the only bit of gore that was...unrealistic isn't the right word, but in a movies where people are using sharp objects to slice themselves up, generally, suddenly having this physically impossible and path-of-most-resistance death seemed really odd.
It was also out of place grotesque and through off the pacing a lot because everything else built, but it was very much just thrown in there. It would have been a lot more intresting if they'd have the mirror grab her mouth, maybe some crunching sounds, and then cut to the cop draining the water.
The filming and sound effects were awesome, really good visuals. Acting good, cute kids, and no real feeling of "Don't do that you dumb fuck." (Also, random ass thing to notice but a really good use of the word "fuck") There were a lot of things I WISH they'd explored more (E.x. CREEPY FREAKY MANNEQUINS ALL OVER!? BURNED BODIES CRAWLING ACROSS THE FLOOR?!) but there was only so much time. I also think a better climax woulda been when everything exploded, and I wish there's been MORE disturbing imagery when the old lady was reposed, but I enjoyed the twist end.
And...I had fun this weekend, but stressed like whoa. And I don't eve know why in all cases. I'm gonna go curl up with bevvy and see if I can get rid of it.

galenhiril, the tentative plans for next weekend are it's just you, me, and Bev because currently Ju is grounded. HOWEVER I have no idea if I'll have money for gas. Bev got like...no paycheck because NDK, being sick and having to take off like 4 days, and having a garnish from a medical bill all hit the same check), and I have no job yet, and Greeley is far, so I don't know about gas monies. But if I can scarp it up (And anything you can add would help) the plan right now is to head up Friday after noon and stay till Saturday.
