I didn't dislike the gore because of the gore...I disliked it cause it was boring and predictable. Like...My Bloody Valentine, Nightmare on Elm St, and Slither all were really gory (In fact, all more gory) but also like...much more interesting about it. It wasn't the senseless it was the boring. (if you have not seen My Bloody Valentine or Slither, you would like them both. one is intentional Camp, one is....My Bloody valentine)
Well, Jason was Mrs. Vorheese. And that makes sense. The "motive" makes sense, as much as a horror movie makes sense. But when Jason is...JASON...like...it's just dumb. And like...being Jason he should be like you said..."Smash, crush, bash, hack..." simple but violent things. Not complicated schemes like "Set trap with girl tied up in sleeping bag over fire so boy will run into bear trap." ...no.
And more frustrating, like...if the plot was that the camp counselors had been screwing and something happened to Jason that he BECAME retarded it being both Mrs. Vorheese (getting revenge for her "ruined" son) and Jason (Angry and not really understanding why his mother is gone so lash out) MAKES SENSE.

But no. That's far too logical.
