MY PANEL WAS ACCEPTED AT OTAKON~!

I AM SORTA TERRIFIED. I'm sure I can rock it, but....I am more nervous then I have been about a con panel for awhile.

I have never done a panel for a con so big. Has anyone been to panels at Otakon? What are they like?

It's called "Yaoi, yuri, and het! Oh my!" I have no idea when yet....

Also, t-rex cowgirl is colored, needs some computer stuff. Weaboo pin-up is done. Comic is thumbnailed, panels are laid out on the paper, and rough sketches are done.

And badges are all sketched out~!

Excitement has just set in :D

Panels at Otakon are what you make them, but it's generally a bunch of people sitting at a table in front of the room with a huge screen behind them. You're basically giving a presentation. People normally use powerpoints or show videos or do both. Most panelists seem to like doing a Q&A at the end, but I get the feeling it's because they've just run out of shit to talk about to eat up their whole hour.

The best panels I've been to are the ones who are run by people who are good at improv and just throw jokes into their presentations and make fun of each other and the crowd for a good portion of their time. When a panelist just sits around and talks in front of a powerpoint for an hour, it almost feels like being in a classroom and gets pretty boring. The Silent Hill panel in 08 was like that, and a lot of people walked out. Have fun with it as much as you possibly can.

Excitement is awesome.

I WANNA SEE T-REX RIDER.

I want her on a T-Shirt, like nothing else.

Good Luck on your panel! I know you'll do well, because like-- that one at last NDK was pretty excellent. You're funny and charismatic, and just because it isn't the usual crowd doesn't mean the usual routine (or lack thereof) won't be just as cool.

Your openings about 'what is shipping' and defining all of the different 'codenames' and vocabulary in fandom have always been good, because you're funny, clear and straightforward.

Does this mean chibwee making party can happen? I have had this burning urge to paint tiny details on wooden figurines and cut out ridiculous foam hair that I have just not been able to satisfy.

Congrats, Terra! :3

Not quite my thing, so I probably won't attend, but I'll be cheering you on for a good panel while I'm there from the sidelines!
