(no subject)
So I have giant boobs.
My mom use to have boobs like mine (She has progressively worked down to no boobs). They broke her back, literally. Her T8 partially collapsed. Where the boobs put stress is hard because it's a place in our body where we don't have barely any muscle support. There are the ones that run along your spine, but where your upper back and lower back have other support systems, that's generally a weak spot.
Guess who is getting seriouse pains in the same area!
Not to mention pain over the rest of my back, neck, etc.
And I'm tired of the way they look. Of every picture being "Oh look it's Be, and Sarah, and Te's boobs! Oh and she's there somewhere too, behind them!"
The first doctor I was referred to refused to do the surgery without 6+ weeks of PT and IB Prophen. My doctor doesn't want me taking the later because of my stomach, and the former...yes PT might help me manage the pain for a short amount of time, but it won't make it go away. My doctor said that was ridiculous, and got me a different referral.
The second doctor was super snazzy. And he was...impressed is not the right word but yes, according to experts my boobs are giant. If there was any doubt. He said that with as much tissue as he would take it would be double the average amount of a normal reduction. He also said there was a 100% chance I'd lose sensation and the ability to breast feed on the right side (the bigger) and likely on the left.
He also said he would not do it unless he also could remove the like...back/under arm roll right behind the boob, and that that would be out of pocket. The way the doctor said it, it was going to be a few extra hundred, and really that isn't bad to make a $20,000 surgery not half assed.
AND THEN THE MONEY GIRL CAME IN.
So. The surgery is only $650.
The prep is $3000.
And because it is aesthetic a) insurance won't touch it and b) the hospital is making m pray for prep separate from the medical surgery (The reduction). Even thought it'll be the same surgery prep, the same anesthesiologist, etc, they are gonna charge me twice for it.
So it's not tacking on a small plastic surgery to a medical procedure. It's having a plastic curgery, all on it's own.
And...I can't afford it. My insurance only pays 80%. 20% of a $20,000 is gonna stretch me thing enough, with out adding on the other surgery.
So right now, I am waiting to hear it the insurance will approve it either way. If they DO I am going to:
a) tell the doctor I won't do it with the underarm surgery, and see if he'll fold. I...don't know if he will.
b)My momI am calling the first place tomorrow and explaining I have a "gross abnormality" (Thank you medical lingo for helping my self esteem) and GERD so can they at least see me before pushing me into the 6 week program, because I am not a normal case.
Or maybe the insurance fairy will decided to pay 100% or something. IDK.
Also, I have an art journal.
artmadillo. It isn't pretty cause I'm still computerless, but I'm gonna go upload stuff there.
