I'm back. Happy birthday to those who had one while I was gone!
And I don't have pictures up yet, but the con!
Saw a LOT of movie previews (I'll try to link to what I saw, unless I can't):
Jesus Twilight look ridiculous. We ended up watching some world premier sneak preview thing twice (Obviously only a world premiere once) and I couldn't help but think both times "Why is this so popular." (And before some book fan comes in to defend it as just being the movies, I checked to see if it was stuff only in the movie. It's not. Srsly, I can see them being entertaining fluff, but actually good literature? Plx to be reading more)
The Fall looks absolutely gorgeous. I have NO idea what it about but the visuals were stunning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQt0QjWHUjY
Hellboy looks epicly awesome. You can see the Pan's Labyrinth influence. Which is a very good thing. The trailer we saw (Which is better) I can't find (It may have been exclusive to, IDK.) but here's one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_O0xYCy1cg
The Strangers is TERRIFYING looking. Even the preview scared the shit outta me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCU0k_jbCUo The part where she standing in the Lving room and...I won't ruin it for you but HO SHIT. It's not as impressive on the itty screen.
The new Hulk looks good, and uhm....there was a horror movie called Otis ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EX0JlzHhXl 4) that's direct to DVD but had a hilarious opening. Look like a lot of yuck tho... And new Will Smith Superhero film that looks good and...I ran out of things that left an impression on me. Shoulda taken notes.
The costume contest was balls. Not because we didn't win (there was at least three groups better then us) but because one of the three winner were NOT in that group. They were doing Cloud, Rikku and Paine, and weren't even that good at it. (They weren't horrid but I'd say they were on the bottom level of what I see as common "good" FF cosplays. Like good but nothing that set them above the crowd. Missing some details, you know.) There was an amazing gundam cosplayer (he won best in show. And deserved it), and another Mrs. Lovet/Sweeney Todd which was a touch awkward. He let Ju play with his real razors afterwards. I hope I can find some of those pics.
And we made a pretty penny in the art room but HOLY HELL do they need some rules. And this isn't just me ripping my hair out at the guy who had the $500 photo shopped pieces (I'm not even kidding. He throws a photo through a few layers and calls it an original and sells it. And tons of em. Takes up two walls. And I'm guessing gets it. He said they're "Acrylics. THEY ARE COMPLETELY FLAT. Any one who's ever worked in acrylics know that doesn't HAPPEN. And he has a "watch my steps to see this aren't photoshopped..." and they're all photoshopped steps! ....ok I'm calming down) but there was tons of not fantasy/sci-fi art. Not necessarily BAD art, just...not that.
And this post is long so I stop now. Pics later.

Lolol, I couldn't even get through Twilight. It was just laughably bad. XD;; I'm at least seeing the movie for the lulz though. Even though I really don't know how people can take it seriously. :,D

But I'm just watching the preview going "This sounds like someone read Interview with a Vampire and made a bad fanfic out of it, complete with Mary Sue and everyone awesome living in the same house as a happy family."
I love how in our thing we watch one of the bad people made this whole big deal about how they were hunter and they HOMG hunted humans. And I was going "Hmmm...maybe BECAUSE YOU'RE VAMPIRES?!"

*fail*
Hahahah. There was this little group of Twilight fangirls infront of me that jumped up and spazzed for the preview. ..... I've never read the book, because it just... isn't my thing I guess. I prolly won't see the movie either. At least not in theatres.
o.0 The Fall looks stunning! We should go see it when it comes out!!!!!! =D
I also want to see Wanted. But this mostly be due to the desire to drool over Angelina Jolie. lol.

It is so gorgeous, we ttly should. It'll probably only be at like...the Mayan. Was Wanted the assassin one? That looked pretty damn amazing too.

I think that people at the costume contests are a touch prejudice to characters that are "popular" and well-known, in all honesty.

I think because they don't know the characters so well, they were wowed, without knowing that for THOSE costumes, it was a pretty meh effort. (Lukcily the Lego Storm troopers and the like...20 person night at the museum were above them)
