*FLAIL*

Dear everyone forever.

There ARE no other Solar Systems.

OUR SUN IS SOL. We are the ONLY system around SOL. So we are the ONLY SOLAR SYSTEM. Star Systems, yes. Solar Systems, no.

I have NO idea why this gets under my skin so much. But it does.

And while I'm on it:

A broken bone and a fractured bone are the same damn thing. No, there's no difference in intensity. (For example: A hairline fracture is a tiny little crack in a whole bone, a roller coaster fracture is when the bone is like _- simple visual but you get the idea I hope.)

And that is that for Terra's pointless, dumb pet peeves.

Hairline fractures hurt so much holy shit jfklds

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2009-02-05 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
For me it was never so much that it hurt, as that...it hurt for like...NOTHING. I mean insult to injury, you break you're arm and it's like...nothing on an X-ray, just a tiny little squiggly...that KILLS you when you move at all D:

My worst broken bone was the one that hurt the least, trufax. The hairline fractures were fucking killing me but the snapped growth plate was nothing. :(

It sounds painful tho D:

[identity profile] the-beanmaster.livejournal.com 2009-02-16 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
AND THEN SOMETIMES THEY DON'T GIVE YOU A CAST AT ALL, EVEN THOUGH YOUR ARM HURTS JUST AS MUCH AS AN ACTUAL "BROKEN" BONE.

NOT THAT I'D KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE OR ANYTHING.

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2009-02-17 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
None of my breaks got real casts either. Splints my ass.

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2009-02-05 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
If it's gonna hurt, at least it should be dramatic.

(IDK why this got split)

I KNOW D:

Before Supernova the solar/star system misnaming thing didn't bother me. After doing almost two years of immersing myself in trying to learn everything I can about the Universe (betting money before we die we'll be calling it the Multiverse and I'm gonna start claiming I'm from Earth-2)it does get to me a lot. But I understand why people don't know, and it's always a good conversation piece. Which then leads to me trailing off about black holes for some reason or another...

[identity profile] blissfully-mee.livejournal.com 2009-02-05 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I have heard many black hole stories!! :P But they are interesting all the same!!

And Yes both fracture and broken are both the damn same! Both hurt like hell and are never any fun!

THIS WAS ON A SCIENTIFIC JOURNAL. (http://www.newscientist.com/article/mg20126932.400-is-the-solar-system-unique.html)

Actually the whole sol thing is what started that whole world.

[identity profile] fifth11.livejournal.com 2009-02-06 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Magazine. A scientific journal would not publish that trash. 1. For facts. 2. For format. And 3. For everything else in between THAT and a scientific article.

(Please don't get mad at me for acting like such an annoying little know-it-all. It's just that I have at least three classes shoving real scientific articles down my throat right now.)

They still should be someone who knows those details either way.

I thought I was the only one that got annoyed with that. D:

SATELLITE OF LOVE

THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS

[identity profile] submit-yourself.livejournal.com 2009-02-06 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
I never knew the first one before. In class its always "yes there are many different solar systems in the universe, but none close enough to actually visit."

with the second one. I haven't really been guilty of thinking there's a differences. like someone will ask me if I broke my foot and I'll answer back that it's just a small fracture, but I don't think that counts I think that's a preference on words.
