busy not thinking about today

RPERS.

I need some advice.

I had a muse die (And I dunno how permanently) cause of some shit, and like...I feel like a whole slew of others are about to go to, kinda connected. And the stuff can't really be resolved, and it's small and silly, but still making me feel all shitty.

Does anyone know how to like...stop it (the muse collapse)? And maybe get past the first? Normally I just force myself to play them until it gets better, but I've never...like I've had muses fade, but I've never had a "Thing A stopped B suddenly." type thing.

I don't RP in the style you do, I mostly just do it over IMs, but I know what you mean. Unfortunately there isn't a quick fix to that. :\ If they're not original characters, sometimes watching an episode that is centered around them helps. Or writing drabbles... or doing some intense RPing with the character that's fading. OR making a CD of music that reminds you of them and listening to it nonstop. XD

I think I will try those things, specially the music one. Thank you!

X3 Sure! That's usually my fallback plan, anyway. XD

I actually do that a lot! I have several muses that now come at rather inconvenient times due to a song coming on the radio...^.^

Canon reviews might stop a muse from fading but sometimes the reason why a muse fade is because you, the player, want them to fade.

I.e. Look at what happened to my Balthier-muse I used to have. He is utterly dead while my Noah(Gabranth)-muse is still alive despite the fact they are from the same canon.

Sometimes we subconsciously want to let go of muses that we feel in someway do not fit us well.

One of my favorite ways to keep them alive is to go to deviantart and do an image search for them. (It's also good for stimulating the growth of new muses.) Canon reviews also help, and sometimes finding somewhere else to write them/play them works too. If you know any good fic about that character... basically, just get them in your head in a way that's not connected to the RP that's killing them.

Do you keep RP logs or have them posted somewhere? Re-reading old ones tends to wake mine back up a bit. Then again I've never had an actual death so much as going into stasis.

I go back and re-read stuff like [livejournal.com profile] seiberwing suggested. I also watch the sources of the things they came from. Say your Muse is like Yuki Eiri, so you go back and watch some Gravi or read the manga or watch an AMV or something. I usually get kicked back into the groove by then. It depends; my Muses are all OCs, as I don't really relate to non-OC Muses lol.

P.S. massive love and hugs for you for your newest post, hun. disabled commenting can't stop my loooove

*nod nod* I might try that.

Danke babe. And hey, I might be able to get a rat again, now there's no cats. The silver lining to this is all so unproportionals, but I am trying hard to find it.
