Last time I'll shop from Amazon

Amazon has stopped ranking GLBT book because they're "adult" material, however, the judgment is regardless of how much explicit sex they have in them. Just if they're GLBT themed.

...

So anything with a GLBT theme in the book is explicit no matter what?

Pretty much. And they also lumped in feminist books and book about disabled people's sexuality.

...N-no way.

There is no way that Amazon executives could be that fucking stupid.

Wow...

Yeah, I don't think I plan on using Amazon ever again in my natural life.

What the hell! Nice way to alienate your writers and clientele!

There's also a non-fiction analysis of homosexuality in the military that got hidden. Pretty anything that mentions teh evol ghay is gone.

and I'm sure you could find books where people get gutted horribly on that list still... for effing sakes they make children's books that are LGBT themed.. they're POP UP! how does that constitute adult themed books... really. that's rather insulting...

Well, 50 years of Playboy, or some playboy anthology or another, still has a rating.

They've been claiming "a glitch" caused it, but it seems what they're trying to say is, well, this: http://tehdely.livejournal.com/88823.html

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2009-04-13 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Possibly, but Amazon explained why they did it last I heard. It does not make a lot of sense for Amazon to explain they're reasoning, if a hacker did it.

Ok, real answer: http://blog.seattlepi.com/amazon/archives/166329.asp?source=mypi

It was a translation issue, basically.
