Balls.

I'm rereading Snow and Sakura which I printed out with my school prints last semester (And also, Ju, we're retarded...at the top of the page is a PDF version of the whole thing....)

It's making me be all like "OMG I WANNA BE INTO X HARDCORE AGAIN!"

Which makes me remember that Clamp is made of evil, evil woman who own my soul.

Dammit.

I'm really bored, and I have life drawing in about half an hour which leads to even MORE boredom. And generally bad jazz music.

And I'm super spazzy, wtf.

Also, my art history book is written in pretentious. Srsly, while trying to explain post modernism it had a 4 paged detailed tangent of complex, layered linguistics, signifier, signified, marked phrases, etc.

Yes, it was entirely as unrelated as it sounds. And most frustrating, probably could have been very relevant

I swear to god, in my 20 minutes of reading last night I ran into more words I had never seen legitimately used before, then in the last year. Possibly in all my college years combined.

At least "balls" wasn't randomly thrown in there.

...We ARE retarded!
FML.

..Balls. *snort*

I promise you it did not fuck your whole life.

Just like.

20 minutes.

...

Heh.

I ran into that problem, too! A fanfiction, actually. The writer actually knew this word that specifically meant marble-like (marmoreal). WTF is up with that? Other words, too, but that was the one where I thought, "This word has such a narrow usage, I wonder where you learned it."

[identity profile] krakensoup.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
I love to use words like that, I just hate how it can be seen as pretentious because most of the time other people use it, it actually is. Also, if you are writing something you really want read, do it in the peoples' language.

[identity profile] fifth11.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah on all this.

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2009-11-20 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and I don't mind it popping up OCCASIONALLY, learn one new words or two, but our text book literally was unreadable duye to them.

[identity profile] krakensoup.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
I hate fanfiction and fanart with so much passion! For me, it's wading through so much garbage-ridden scheisse to find a diamond, and then realizing it's just cubic zirconia... Because it's FAKE and not CANNON and not by "REAL" authors... Get it? LOL.

I realize this bugs only me and that everyone else loves it, so I won't poo on anyone's parade. I just thought I would say. I guess I have too much more awesome to learn about with series than to waste my time on something written by a fan. That's my reasoning. Throw Clamp in there and I'm all: "WUT? I don't even..."

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I love good fanfiction. I think it's harder to write something staying within someone elses rules, and still make it something worth while, then to be able to create everything yourself.

However, the combination of that being harder, and no one to say "Hey, this is crap and you can't publish it" makes for a cesspool of crap.

Clamp own my soul, but they are cruel mistresses.

[identity profile] bloodsorrow.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
...500 pages of fanfiction?

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't THINK so. Or else I cut it down quiet a bit. I have about what would equal a 200 page book in my note book.

And it's REALLY good, like...IDK if you care at all about the fandom (I know you read X, but it's pretty specifically Seishirou and Subaru) or anything but you'd like the writing I think.

[identity profile] xaefryl.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn it, now I'm going to have to re-read that story. D: Haven't delved into the X fandom in years because, yes, CLAMP is evil and not doing more currently. I miss the good old days of my Sei/Su shipping. So many regrets for selling my X and Tokyo Babylon manga. Soooo many regrets!

There's a new cahpter from...last summer-ish? IDK it's why IO started rereading it cause she was like "NEW CHAPTER!" and I was like "...you're still alive?!"

And then didn't wanna read it online.

[identity profile] xaefryl.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 06:49 pm (UTC)(link)
What, really? I had no idea she was even still writing it! Shows how well I've kept up with things!

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, i'd given up, but I'm on her mailing list and so it ended up in my inbox. Or else I never woulda known.

I'm secretly keeping bets with myself as to wether she or clamp will finish first. Well not so secretly...

[identity profile] xaefryl.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I may have to see if some of my old favorite fics are still floating around. I may just starting writing for X again, myself.

My money's on the apocalypse coming and going before either of them finish. You know those Seals and Angels can't put off the final battle for another ten years.

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
BWA HAHA.

And \o/

Yeah, they're like "...let's just wait and see if this should have been X/2012."

[identity profile] xaefryl.livejournal.com 2009-11-19 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Dear gods, I'm going through my old X fics right now and I'm embarrassed by how they just scream "THIS WAS WRITTEN BY A SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD!"

X/2012. That would be a great fic. :D

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2009-11-20 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah I have that issue reading old fics too.

"...didn't we already DO this shit?"
