I, for one, am looking forward to our evil overlord.
I hate being "that guy" but I am amused/confused at the outrage and confusion in fandom cause...duh this was coming, and it is more interesting then the other option. Of course we weren't going to get a happy ending this season, this is Supernatural. We'll be lucky if we don't get heart punched the last episode of the last season.
I didn't expect it to be quite so blunt
Generally the episodes pleased me. I think the thing with Sam was sloppy, and should have been both a) REALLY it's own episode and b) not shoved in the middle of the end plot. And it does bother me that Cas was so black and white a switch. It's logical, with that kind of situation, but...moral gray is more interesting. And this creates, if they go for it, an easy fix, which....they have done ("You're not bad because of complex reasons. You're bad cause something is wrong with you that needs fixed like
The part with Lisa and Ben was heart breaking, and I feel like...Supernatural only follow the logical end of innocent loved one/possession/etc when it fits a plot, cause...them not remembering Dean=/=them not being a target. Now they just don't know about Dean, or demons, or anything and are lambs to slaughter. But oh man is Lisa's actress so gorgeous. And I'm glad they didn't die.
And I fucking love Crowley and how he was like "...the jar is empty. Are you stupid."
AND I WANTED TO HUG HELL SAM JFC.
I think that's all I've got.

And yes, I basically agree with EVERYTHING else you say here.
