CLOVERFIELD WAS AMAZING.

More under cut.

Hud, recording...terrible things: "A very terrible thing....another thing, also terrible."

I loved it. It did get dizzying at points, and the recording took bit to get used to, but very good. You really felt you were there.

The acting was very good, very real. I think people complaining about it are too use to people "acting", these people were very REAL which is way harder. Hud was amazing. I liked him best.

The special effect were awesome. You see plenty of the monster, but you also see him in chunks, which adds to the mystery.

You really feel like you're there, and more then a few parts made me outright jump. DEF. should see in theater to keep that "YOU ARE THERE" effect.

It was really interesting, I've been following a lot of the viral information, which is pretty much...this movie is part of an ARG, or Alternate Reality Game. This DOESN'T mean you have to do hours of research before getting the movie. The movie is a small group of people trying to live through a monster attack, and is self contained. You don't need to know the info cause they don't know it, and all you need to know is what they do.

HOWEVER, you can spend hours researching, or do like I did and let everyone do it for you, and there is a whole WORLD behind this movie. None of this stuff is particularly spoilery for the movies, so if this sounds cool to you checks out these links:

Things we KNOW already. This link gathers everything from all the "in game" websites (I.e. websites made as if the movie was a real thing for companies, organizations, myspaces for the characters, etc) and lays them out by which part of the story they deal with.

A wiki of all info. This one got confusing to me at points because it didn't divide well between "In game" things and "out of game" things, but is a good places to start. There's tons more but those links'll get you started.

the viral marketing is absolutely brilliant IMO. i love that we still have so many questions and that there are so many theories going on with viewers.
