chapter 402

....I think my Naruto-muse's heart just broke.

there are not enough D's in the world to make the D: to express how I feel right now about Naruto.

Also, you let tardlet YOU'RE DOING EXACTLY WHAT YOUR BROTHER GAVE UP EVERYTHING TO AVOID DOUCHECOOKIE.

But shit Madara is a good villan.

And where the flying FUCK is Kisame?

I should not brake down in tears... it shouldn't happen!

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
I cried the whole way home. Both of us did. like LITTLE BITCHES.

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I KNOW. DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD:

(Also, I missed he said something when it first happened, that was blanked out. WTF when did this become X?)

[identity profile] tanni-inosento.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude... my nice came to me and totally did the forehead poke to me this morning. I was just like D:....

I'm telling you man! Kishimoto has GOT to get some of his shit from there.

[identity profile] table-chan.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
D: Nooo....

WHY ARE YOU NOT USING THOSE GENIUS-SMARTS SASUKE?!? *hits him* Stupid Madara...

There's this secret little hope inside of me that maybe he means like...the foundation of Konoha. Like the elders/Danzou. (I have a feeling I'm reading too much into it though ._.) Danzou is a good villain. Able to twist something that much to his own devices. Very tricky. DX

And smiling Itachi and teary Sasuke? ;_________;

...Good question.

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
Danzou gives off MAD CHOMO VIBES.

But yes. All around.

*Snuggle you*

[identity profile] table-chan.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Doh'. I think I meant Madara. I wrote this when I was quite tired XD

*snuggles back*

Well, let's hope Kishimoto has the balls to see this through to its logical end. Sasuke must die.

Oh and I knew that Madara had a specific reason for telling Sasuke what he wanted, and figured it was because he was manipulating Sasuke into destroying the village for him.

But, I don't think his telling of Konoha's secret history is unbiased. In fact, I'd love for Sasuke to kill a bunch of those mofos only to find out that what he heard isn't completely true. Shortly followed up by Naruto putting his sorry emo ass out of his misery.

Oh and I will call it now...

Tsunade is going to die defending Konoha. I would prefer Sasuke to kill her as it would make it inevitable for a Naruto/Sasuke death match, and then Kishimoto can't pussy out. But I have a feeling it's gonna be someone like Madara delivering the death blow.

All of this will pave the way for a victorious Naruto to be named Hokage at the end of this series.

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm putting money on it coming down to Senju vs Uchiha again, but probably Madara.

But I also think Sasuke will be redeemed somehow. Because Orochimaru's wasn't. And one of the huge themes in Naruto is fixing the mistakes of the past.

[identity profile] xtirpate.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm so glad. Its character of Sasuke to do this and I was going to be really fucking pissed off if he did a personality flip over this.

Honestly? I don't think the truth made what he thought of Itachi ANY BETTER. It might have just made things worse. Now he understands why Itachi did what he did but it is STILL no excuse. Sasuke would have stood by his family.

Sasuke and Madara are similar in temperment. His family is everything.

It actually came out in rp yesturday.. haha.

Furthermore to the one person above, I don't see how this isn't Sasuke using his smarts. Honestly, if people didn't see this coming than they didn't know Sasuke at all.

[identity profile] table-chan.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't want to argue too much in Terra's journal but I just thought I'd defend my stance on this.

I was just looking at it from the point of that there was probably a very good reason Itachi did not want Madara talking to Sasuke about this (besides just the fact of Itachi not wanting Sasuke to know the truth about him). Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but that's just how I was looking at it.

I also never said I didn't see it coming. Sasuke has raised himself with this point of view about getting and wanting revenge against person who killed his clan. Its natural that he now wants to go after the people who were originally behind the idea of killing off his family and the village that did nothing to help him after the fact.

I hope I didn't come off as angry or anything >>; Sorry that I just came off as just a brainless fan girl the first time around.

(Again, sorry Terra.)

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't worry about it, hun. If it gets too bad I'll just turn of notifications.

[identity profile] xtirpate.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't really want to argue either. I'm pretty flexible in what I see as smart or wise, and what is evil or not evil.

Nope, you didn't come off as angry. Suppose its me who's looking at this situation from Sasuke's point of veiw. I am in support of it. [shrugs]

Yeah there is a good reason Itachi wouldn't want him to know. It would start a war. Ect.

I guess also, if I was Sasuke I would think this way as well. So I look from Sasuke's point of veiw more than I look from others point of veiw.
You are right though - there are reasons.

Perhaps its "stupid" of him to do in one's point of veiw - but I don't think he's not using his intelligence. I think its merely Sasuke's temperment differs from others. His mindset is not the same as many in Konoha.

[identity profile] table-chan.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
That makes a lot of sense. >>; Goes to show I still have a lot to learn when it comes to viewing things through Sasuke's eyes. He's just doing what he knows and what he believes is the right path.

[identity profile] xtirpate.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. Through his eyes, it was Konoha who destroyed their family. Konoha supressed them, retrained them, and kept watch over them. Konoha ordered the assassination for fear of loosing that control over Uchiha, and of course fear for the war that would spur on - the Uchiha are both genius and strong.

Sounds pretty awesome doesn't it? Makes Konoha look like the bad guys. Through his eyes they are.

Konoha never mattered to Sasuke as much as his family which meant everything. His father and his brother were far superior over the hokage. What Uchiha DID mean everything. It didn't matter whether it was for Konoha or not. Merely what they were - blood and family - was important. Until Naruto, Sasuke's only ties were in his family and his family was the only bonds he cared about.

The clan is above all else. It always was.

Aaand end babble. I could talk about Naruto and psychology and theory and ect all day. Don't mind me.

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
And like...I do see this as IC for Sasuke...I also see it as stupid. because as balls as what Itachi had to do was...it WAS the right thing. The elder WE'RE right. Unfortuantly in this kinda thing stupid does seem to be IC for Sasuke (See, simplifying something that obviously very complicated to "Big Brother bad, basing your whole life on it)

Part of what I love about that character is he does stupid things, but as a reader you can totally see why, in his mind, they aren't. It can frustrate the HELL out of me, but it's really hard to walk that line of "Stupid for the reader, smart for the character." (With out making you wanna just punt the character. Like say, the Silent Hill movie)

[identity profile] xtirpate.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree with everything you're saying here. I guess my inner Sasuke goes: HE'S NOT STUPID. HE'S BEING SASUKE. (Which like you said does have its moments of stupid, but I often agree with those stupid moments.)

I'd do the same thing which I guess would label me "stupid" too. I mean, this direction was completely obvious to me. I agree with his side a lot more than Konoha's - so I guess thats where it comes from.

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
See, I'm very much a, too an extent, need of the many type person. But I also see that with the knowledge SASUKE has, and Biases he has, He sees everything he's doing as totally logical.

Which is damn hard to write and I give Kishimoto mad props for. Because it's so easy to NOT justify the character actions to the viewed who is privy to more knowledge. (I.e. We see he should have investigated more, but it's not unreasonable for an angry 12 year old NOT to)

I also do love that finally it's breaking the gryffindor syndrome and NOT showing it as always good (because it's so not always ab good place) I also like that there showing ruthlessness in a ruthless society, which naruot has at times been sorta weak on.

?rushed reply is rushed, sorry.

[identity profile] xtirpate.livejournal.com 2008-05-30 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
12 year old?

Need of the many type?

LOL QUESTIONS!?!???!

I get your point of veiw. Objectively I see reason in all perspectives. But in my own mindset - I'd side with Sasuke on this one.

In Sasuke's own mindset his reason for doing this is very valid. Its the same as when he left and everyone started hating on him. It made me wonder if people know ANYTHING about Sasuke's temperment at all and the effects of PTSD. Also that he's very family orientated. Sure Naruto is his best friend and OH WELL? Its not enough.

Its kind of like that really idealistic idea that LOVE is enough to substain a relationship. Yeah, no.

And thats alright.

[identity profile] donotttrust.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Itachi choosing a village over his entire families clan was not the right thing to do. The village was going to continue to oppress that family, so instead of fighting back with his family and killing for the right to live and be free, it was better of him to wipe them out on their behalf like some kind of lapdog?

I call balls on that one.

Madara and Sasuke have every right to march back into Konoha and burn that sumbitch to the ground.

Itachi was a weak minded fool who allowed himself to be a pawn, instead being a man and standing with his family.

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
And I disagree completely. Sorry.

I see why Sasuke thinks that way, but 20-40 people vs the hundreds to thousands that woulda died?

No brainer.

[identity profile] donotttrust.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not arguing this from a philosophical stand point of the greater good versus personal rights. I'm arguing this from a real life personal stand point. Anyone who would willingly kill their entire family is a psychopath. Especially if it was in the name of their village or country or whatever.

Surely you can relate to that.

[identity profile] penguinfaery.livejournal.com 2008-05-31 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Shinobi's are tools of their village. It's what they're trained to do. It may make them psychopaths but...it's what they do.

[identity profile] xtirpate.livejournal.com 2008-06-03 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Now here's someone who thinks like Sasuke. Props to us.

I see both sides; but like you - I understand Sasuke's point of view far more.
