GAH, I hate not having anything to do this summer. As in like...big plans. People are coming to see ME but like...I want to GO do something.

Worldcon is going to be here but it's $200 for a 5 day ticket...Opus canceled due to world con and the DNC. I don't have the money to hit up AX or anything like that (And wtf Tilly even offered to pay to fly me out and I just knew I didn't have that little bit extra to push for food/ticket/etc) Plus this year there's a lot of people going I'd wanna see past Tilly, and it would feel balls to make her pay and then not stay with her. And my mom's going to cali at the right time, but my aunt only wanted to take her :(

GAH I have cabin fever. Stupid money.

I understand that though. Cabin fever is icky @_@ I'm kind of almost glad I have to take that class now, just so I get out of the house.

I'm on the western edge of Nevada. Not like, Lake Tahoe or anything, but I would be in Cali after an hours drive.

Well, Worldcon doesn't come close to you that often -- it's been about 40 years since its last visit to Denver -- so it's an opportunity you don't want to miss if there's a chance to see it. And people who already have memberships (they're not tickets -- they include membership in the World Science Fiction Society and the right to vote on the Hugo awards) but who can't attend have been posting their memberships for sale on

denvention3. If you follow that community, you might be able to pick up a membership for a lot less than the current price.

Alternatively, you could plan to go for only one day; membership for a single day will cost less than all five, although it will still not be cheap. (Worldcons are very expensive to stage, for lots of reasons. It's not as though the organizers are lining their pockets or anything like that; it's just a lot harder and more expensive to organize one-shot big conventions than ongoing, small ones.)

I understand, dahling. I was planning on going up north with one of my Colorado friends and now it's seeming that I might not be able to do it because of gas prices.
I've been stuck in this damn valley for over two years and left only four times. (the time I went for a meeting in Riverside doesn't count b/c it was work) If anyone's got cabin fever, it's me...so I getcha.
