So. About Prop 8, and 102 and all the bullshit, and our that failed last year (?)etc, and why even though it makes me sad I'm not crushed:

Because it shows how far we've come that this is even UP for votes. And yeah. It didn't win. THIS time.

But things like this don't happen over night. Someday. Hopefully soon.

That's my light at the end of the tunnel anyway.

I hear ya. And even though I'm not looking at getting married soon anymore, I agree.

Someday, probably soon -- give the younger generation some time to come more fully into power -- we will have that right.

I hope that eventually we can look at all this shit similarly to women's rights or racial prejudice. That if we have kids we can say "look at how stupid people used to be; that they thought we didn't deserve to get married just because of who we loved." But steps have to be small, and at least there's attention being given now.

Yup. I hope that that will be for us what racial equality and women's rights are for our parents.

Ok, I think I messed up 102 (It's AZ's) but prop 8 was to reverse California's acceptance of Gay marriage.

Don't honey, really. Like...I know it sucks. Trust me I KNOW. I'm someone who is facing the fact I will NEVER get the right law. BUT, someone said it's two steps forward, one step back...but we HAVE the step forward.
